In the recent years, there has been an influx of people installing wind turbines and various other alternative energy devices in their homes. This is probably because of the current global environmental crisis. It is also caused by people’s need to save money on the bills in this current economic crisis. Indeed, with crises of all kinds happening right now in our world, there has never been a better time to switch to alternative energy. While the reasons may be obvious enough for some, other are not quite convinced and are a little hesitant when it comes to changing the way they power their homes. Let us look at some of the benefits of installing wind turbines to power your home.

Aside from helping the user financially, the wind turbines also prevent us from having to use irreplaceable fossil fuels for energy. Using fossil fuels for energy is destroying our atmosphere one gallon at a time, by emitting toxic carbon dioxide into the air. Not only is burning fossil fuel bad for the environment from multiple angles, it is also bad for our finances as well, because the price of oil will continue to rise as it is being used up.

In the past wind turbines were not really a viable solution to the energy crisis because they were so big and they needed so much space to operate. Now a days, you can have one installed on top of your roof, and it will take up literally no usable space whatsoever, similar to a satellite dish. Even though you may not be ablee to power your entire home with one turbine, it will take a big chunk off of the energy bill each month. Some people use multiple wind turbines and solar panels to power their entire house.

It may come as a surprise to some people but wind turbines are not very expensive at all. In fact there are many guides that can teach you how to do it yourself for a couple hundred dollars. You can find most of the parts you will need at your local hardware store, or on the internet. If you are looking for a guide to help you with the building off the wind turbine, then I would recommend the Power4Home guide. It comes complete with detailed instructions, diagrams and 3+ hours of instructional video teaching you step by step how to build your wind turbine. It also teaches you how to build solar panels as well, and there is even a section for entrepreneurship that teaches you how to start a business with your newfound abilities.

A lot of people are under the impression that solar panels are some kind of super high tech device that is built in a laboratory grade factory. The truth is, solar panels are actually quite easy to build, if you have the right guide to teach you. Building a solar panel is most definitely worth the time, because it will save you thousands of dollars per year on electricity, and it will also help the environment as well. If you are looking to “go green”, then I would highly recommend you consider building your own solar panel as your first option.

Once you know how to construct a solar panel, you will then have the ability to increase the size of the system, make critical adjustments, and even offer your services to people in the community. This will give you the opportunity to MAKE money off of your new found talent. In fact, in the Power4Home guide there is even a entrepreneurship section, that teaches you exactly how you can start your own business with your ability to make solar panels.

You don’t have to use the solar panel that you build for your home only. It can be used anywhere you see fit, including in the RV, the boat, the cabin, the car or anywhere else you would need power. A solar panel basically serves as storage place for solar cells. The solar cells absorb the sun’s rays and convert them into energy that we can use, electricity. After you have learned how to contain the solar cells, then building the solar panel is really just learning how to wire the panels.

There are several kinds of solar cells that you may choose to work with. If you are on a budget, then you may choose to work with refurbished or even damaged solar cells. A lot of the time, you can find damaged solar cells that will still do their job efficiently. If you are going to use damaged cells, then you should learn how to inspect them and see what is worth buying and what is not.

If you would like to learn how to build a solar panel, then you are going to need a good guide. One such guide is the Power4Home guide. It is packed with instructions, diagrams and even more than 3 hours of instructional video! With this guide, even a small child could learn how to build a solar panel. The guide also has a section that teaches you how to make wind turbines as well. There is even a section for entrepreneurship, that will teach you how to start your own business with your newfound knowledge!

A lot of people believe wind energy is the best alternative energy solution. As of lately, the global economic crisis has made people realize how important the energy situation really is. So people are now trying to find the best solutions to this crisis, hence the recent popularity of alternative power sources such as solar panels and wind generators.

On top of saving you money for your bills, it is also one hundred percent harmless to our environment, and it will not cause any holes in the ozone layer ,or require you to cut down the rain forests. Nor will it emit a toxic gas from a tailpipe, poisoning the air we breathe, as is done routinely in today’s society as if it is “normal”. The only effect a wind generator will have is to provide free unlimited energy, with no negative side effects whatsoever. You would think it would be preposterously impossible that such a wonderful device, could cause anything bad, as you sip on a smoothie made by a blender that used $0 worth of energy, and didn’t hurt a single gnat……Smile

While the energy is free after you have the wind generator running, it may be expensive to have it installed by professionals. Because of this most people would rather do it themselves and save 90% of the ridiculous fees the installers charge. It wouldn’t make sense to go and spend several thousand , just to save a couple hundred a month, especially if you did not have more than a couple hundred to spend. You would be waiting until next year to see the return on your investment, if you had had it installed by professionals.

There are guides available on the internet that will show you how to install it for next to nothing, and it will be set up and running in a couple of minutes. These guides will also give you plenty of tips that will help you maintain the wind generator, thus keeping you from having to ever spend money on a technician. There are even do it yourself kits available that are a small fraction of the price of an assembled wind generator. If you want a wind generator, but you don’t want to spend thousands, then you are going to have to not be lazy, and spend an hour of your time assembling it. Take a look at the Power4Home site.

Using off grid solar power has gotten a lot easier now, with recent improvements in technology and an increased concern about the environment.

Once limited to people who lived in remote places where electricity was either expensive, inconvenient, or impossible, off grid homes are now moving closer to civilization. Taking your home off the municipal power grid is less expensive and easier than it has ever been, and solar power is the most common way to do it.

In a setup like this, you will need:

solar panels

a regulator

batteries

An inverter allows you to use AC power instead of DC, and most systems have computerized control centers to make it easy to monitor what’s going on in your system. Whether or not your home is right for off grid solar power will depend on your location and how your home is situated.

It is important to be able to get enough hours of sunlight per day to charge your batteries with all the power you need. In southern latitudes with mostly clear weather, this can be pretty easy. However, farther north, or where there is often a lot of cloud cover, this can be trickier.

Before you start installing an off grid solar system you should evaluate if your home receives enough sunlight to merit one. If not, you may wish to look at other sources of green power, such as wind.

There’s a limit to how much power can currently be produced from the sun. Solar panels are costly and you need plenty of space. This means that most people in off grid situations need to carefully monitor their usage to make sure that they are not overtaxing the system. When you’re off the grid and you’re out of power, you’re really out of power, after all.

However, most people are able to reduce their power requirements to the point where they can meet their energy production and they always have plenty of stored energy for their daily routines.

Off grid solar power is a great choice if you want to be more self reliant, are concerned about the sustainability of your power generation, or if you just want to be able to control things a little more.

It will save you money in the long run, though initial setup can be costly. You won’t have to worry about rate hikes or inconsistent service. It’s all in your hands. In return, you must learn to take care of your system and adjust your life accordingly. For many people, it’s worth it.

The United States Department of Energy is providing specific information on it’s website concerning the harnessing and distribution of solar powered energy sources on a broad commercial level, as well as to individual residential consumers. According the Department of Energy website, commercial power plants designed and constructed to make use of the renewable energy of the sun can be disbursed to provide energy to residential consumers without the necessity for purchasing personal solar technology systems for individual households.

Passive solar energy is the term used to describe a method of building design which considers the sun’s position in relation to the building to maximize solar heating sources. Without installing any technological devices specific to collecting solar energy, such as solar panels, utility costs can be dramatically affected by simply designing and constructing buildings to utilize the south facing walls for solar heat absorption and cooperatively designing the ventilation system of the building to direct the heat throughout the rest of the structure. By conscious placement of the structure there is a dramatic effect on energy consumption required to maintain the temperature within the building. Obviously, during the hot summer months, steps must be considered to shade the south facing walls from the sun’s impact, or the cost for cooling the building will overshadow the cost savings advantages exhibited during the winter months.

While the obvious benefits of passive solar power as a means of heating buildings includes that solar power is an unending energy source and no chemical reaction is required to convert the sun’s heat, therefore releasing no chemical bi-products or environmental pollutant emmisions, there are negatives to the use of passive solar energy which must be considered. For example, productive use of passive solar energy is dependant on the amount of consistent sunlight which can be expected for a geographical location. Even in areas of continual sunny weather, the heat transferred by the south facing walls in a passive solar application must be retained throughout the night time hours after sunset.

A compromising alternative to a spotty passive solar application may be to take advantage of the newest technology in solar grid films. While traditional collection grids designed for harnessing solar energy were previously constructed in large panel form which were typically attached to the roofs of buildings, new technology is emerging which has reduced the solar collection cells into a thin film which may be positioned flush with existing roof systems for unobtrusive installation. These films are much less costly than their predecessors in that less raw material is required for construction and are now also being seamlessly integrated with different types of roofing systems for virtually undetectable installations. Use of this type of solar energy system will allow your dwelling to remain on the electric utility company’s energy grid, but permit you to use the energy exclusively from your solar energy collector when available, at no cost. In this way, your home is hybridized to use passive solar energy to reduce overall fuel consumption, collected solar energy at no cost, and supplement your energy shortages with the utility company’s provided electricity.

Two years ago, I discovered how great solar power for homes is and I started studying how to build DIY solar panels. It was extremely difficult for me at that time because I did not have any knowledge about that. But after studying for two weeks, I had built my first functional DIY solar panel.

And now, with my homemade solar power system, I am living completely off-grid, which means that I need not pay for the electric company anymore. Also as I have a rather big-scaled system, the electricity it generates is much more than I need. I sometimes get paid by the electric company because it has to buy my extra electricity by law.

I know you now face the same problem. You want to start a solar power house project but you are overwhelmed. You do not know what to do, where to start. However, this feeling will disappear soon because you will quickly realize it is really just a piece of cake, as long as you get the right instructions.

Before you start the project, there are some considerations for you. No matter you just want to build a solar heating system or a solar electricity system, you first have to calculate how long you will get financial return. It is not worth if you have to wait 10 years to recover the investment although the Earth will thank you because you will be making the world cleaner. To do the calculation, you can just browse the Internet and find some tools that teach you the process.

Below are the five top tips for all homeowners who are ready to start the project.

Check if your roof is big enough for the solar panel arrays. Of course, you can also place it in the garden.
The place where you pit the solar panels arrays should receive at least six hours sunlight directly. It is pointless to build DIY solar panels for areas with no sunlight.
Make sure the trees near your house are not close to the homemade solar panels. You can cut down some of them when necessary but do not overdo it because it is harmful to the environment.
Normally you can build the solar panels in just two days so you should schedule you time for the installation beforehand.
For safety reason, the closer your solar panel arrays to the wiring area is, the better.
Those 5 tips are the basic of your project and you will need to get some tools to let you build the solar power system fast. First, you have to get a copy of a DIY solar power house guide online. Before you purchase it, make sure it is of high-quality. You can do so by reading some reviews. Second, you have to prepare some simple tools and parts. You may not know what you have to prepare right now but a good DIY solar power house guide will tell you everything about that.

I hope you enjoy my story and the 5 top tips. I am sure that as long as you would invest a week and $50 for the DIY guide, you will be living off-grid quickly as well.

If you’ve enjoyed all the exciting information you read here about DIY Solar Panels, you’ll love everything else you find at DIY Solar Panels.

Solar power should definitely be an option for those who do not want to pay so much for electricity. From a practical standpoint, anyone should harness whatever they can from nature to reduce the growing cost of power. This is the very reason why many companies started selling solar panels because these are the essential items you need to have solar power for the home. The main challenge is that although many have bought these solar panels, they are not able to put them into use since they placed the panels in the wrong position. Below you will find guidelines how to position solar panels to maximize the energy they can get from the sun.

Keep in mind that as far as solar power for the home is concerned, the angle of your solar panels have a direct impact in the performance of your harnessed energy. The light that shines through them will not be sufficient. The first thing you need to be sure of is that your solar panels must get the maximum amount of light that they can and this is only made possible if the panels are directly under the sun. On top of these, there are angles you need to consider because the earth revolves around the sun all through the year and the angles will change. There is a lot of work that needs to be done and you must realize that harnessing solar power for the home is not kid’s stuff.

After deciding about the panels, the next thing you need to think about is the batteries where you will store the energy. Solar power for the home is not like electricity in which you get it when you want to. The battery you will choose will depend on the amount of power you need to consume from your solar panels. You will need the help of an electrician or engineer to calculate how much energy you will use from the battery by getting the expected wattage of your appliances that will get energy from it.

When you think about renewable energy for your home, what do you think of first? If you are like most people, you think about home solar power. The media has gotten us to the point that we are very familiar with the concept of solar energy, and that we can use this technology to provide electricity for our homes.

You need to understand that there are some big advantages to using home solar power instead of conventional electricity suppliers. Solar power is reliable, it is clean, it needs minimal maintenance, and once the system is set up, it is free.

Reliable

Having a reliable power source can be a big deal. We have all heard reports of a storm moving through an area and knocking out the power grid, several days later there are still people that are waiting for electric service to be returned to their area. In the meantime, all of the food in their refrigerators and freezers has gone bad, and if they have a well for water, they are not even able to get the water out of the ground.

If you were using solar energy for your electricity, when the storm passed and the sun returned, your power would be restored. That is the great thing about home solar power; as long as the sun is shining, you are producing electricity.

Clean

With increasing concern about the state of our environment, more attention is being focused on clean forms of energy. Relying on coal or gas to power electric plants can pump a lot of pollutants into the air. Even if your not convinced about man’s role in climate change, everyone will agree that the pollutants are bad for the environment, and for the people that live around those plants.

Solar energy relies on an internal chemical process that converts energy from light into electricity. There are no toxins that are released, and nothing that will in any way affect the environment or any people or animals that get near the solar panels. They are completely safe.

Easy to Maintain

Solar panels have no moving parts, so there is nothing that will wear out. The extent of the maintenance that is required is to make sure the panels are kept clean, and occasionally cleaning the wire terminals. That’s it. You do not have to worry about the system breaking down, or finding someone that can provide replacement parts

Cost

This is the best part. Once you pay the initial cost of building your system, or purchasing a pre-made system and having it installed, the system does not cost a thing to operate. The electricity it produces is free, and it can greatly reduce your monthly electric bill. In fact, if your solar generator makes enough electricity, it can actually make your meter run backwards.

Using home solar power for your electric needs makes a lot of sense. You can still run your appliances and watch television, but you will have the peace of mind in knowing that you are using a clean, free energy source.

Solar power panels are one of the easiest and least expensive solutions of reducing your electricity dependency. A solar panel is a device that can convert solar energy to electricity. It is an effective alternative energy source. It is also referred to as an eco-friendly source of energy. To date, more and more people are considering its potential and importance.

With energy resources declining fast and the cause climate change across the globe, many people tend to look towards renewable energy for one or both of the same reason that is; the primary source of energy is becoming costlier. By building your own homemade solar panels, you can have a never-ending quest for energy sources while saving money and helping the environment.

Now a day, the most effective way to provide solar power for homes is to build your own solar panels. You don’t need to spend a huge amount of money in building your own solar panel. You only need to buy several materials which are available in most hardware stores such as a square foot of copper flashing and other materials that you need are electric shears to be used in customizing the sheet, plywood, glass, solar cells, wire, silicon, solder, sandpaper and UV protector.

When building a solar panel, you will learn other things such as how to design and build PV panels, customize panel output, solder cell connections, and wire a photovoltaic panel. In addition to that, you will learn how to work with broken cells, test and rate PV cells and even encapsulate solar cells and repair their damages. For instructions, you can search the net where you will find numerous easy steps plus other important pointers.

But how does a solar panel work? Well it is really simple. It collects the energy of the sun. The sun radiates light energy which is captured by your solar collector and it focuses this energy to a photovoltaic cell, which converts it into electricity. Usually these solar panels are connected to a battery which stores the energy so you can use the power of the sun even at the middle of night! I hope you can see the point of learning how to build homemade solar panels!

In fact, making a home made solar energy is nothing more than a week end project. There are many step-by-step guides you can avail to help you build your own solar panel, so that you can take advantage of the sun’s energy.

Today, primary source of energy is becoming insufficient. That’s why most people tend to resort to renewable energy as a means of energy consumption. Solar panel comes with many benefits. You can save a lot of money in converting your energy to solar cell. If you want to save money on your energy bill, you need to consider installing a solar panel system and start saving money immediately.

The most widely used and most appropriate way of using solar energy is the conversion of sunlight directly into electricity. This practice was enjoyed by many household for several years. Not only in countries with remote areas but also developed countries now a day are using solar panels, because of the economic crisis and climate change. Many people turn into building and using solar panel in lieu of the electric energy that empowers their homes.

Solar panel does not only lift with every individuals home. It does not only grant for appliances use. Other application of solar panel energy includes the following:

-Telecommunication: To provide electricity for remote relay stations and repeaters for communication companies
-Water Pumping: There are currently a number of cities that get their drinking water through solar powered pumps.
-Battery: Charging PV station is provided to serve as a battery charging station for an entire community.
-Street Lightning: Street lights equipped with solar panels can store energy in a battery during the day and use this at night for street lightning.

In some countries, such development occurred in using solar energy. New type of cells, known as multifunction solar cells, have pushed the efficiency of solar individuals solar cells, made up mainly of gallium arsenide and its alloys, stacked on top of each other to maximize the capture and conversion of solar energy. Four-Junction solar cells are expected to have a efficiency greater than 40%.

Solar power comes with many benefits. As long as your system receives adequate sunlight, you’ll have power even when every one else around you is in the dark.

We wake up every morning and gazed at the beautiful sunny morning appreciating the beauty of life amplified by the radiant light emitted by the sun, not knowing that there’s more than to it, the sun emits an immense amount of heat which can be converted into electric energy by utilizing the solar power technologies. The sun’s heat are being transformed by the solar panels and converted into electrical energy which are being stored in the batteries and can be used for everyday use in our appliances and cool electronic gadgets essentials for everyday use.

There are solar panels that can be utilized in so many ways, when we think of solar energy the first thing that enters our mind are the solar panels that would take a lot of space, but there are also versatile ways using this solar panel by using photovoltaic and shingles, which are also solar panel cells but incorporated to other forms for aesthetic purposes.

Solar power energy can be utilized into various ways its electric energy can generate to power house, offices, factories and buildings or any other structures that utilizes electricity. Solar energy is also used for everyday uses such as to power heaters, air conditioning units and other appliances essential for everyday living.

Passive solar is another concept that is very useful for architectural building designs. By designing houses that allows natural light to pass through especially the sun’s rays used during the winter months and heaters cost can be efficiently reduced.

Electricity generated by the use of fossil fuel that belches hazardous gaseous materials that combines with our atmosphere has reached its toll and now we are in the era of global warming, this phenomenon was unknown before but by the continued use of this inefficient pollutant energy source, we can actually witness the adverse effect of this pollutants, not stating the fact that they will not be there for long. Due to the reasons that it is a nonrenewable resources and is slowly depleting, what would the human race do if this resources runs out. We put all our efforts on building technologies designed to consume primarily on fossil fuels like automobiles, not realizing that it will come a time that it would be depleted. Unlike solar energy, which is immensely abundant, now is now is the time to utilize the power of the sun.

Fossil fuels are almost depleted and we are all dependent on it. It powers our home, business, transportation, and every essential aspect of our daily lives. Everyone is thinking for an alternative source of energy, and solar power is gaining its popularity. It is very convenient to use, it will atomically reduce our electricity bill and it is so easy to set up.

As you care to think of it with all the good benefits the solar power has to offer, why it is not being used widespread than it is. There are handfuls of answers pertaining to such questions. One of this is that some people simply do not like the way solar panel look; they have the feelings that it detracts the beauty of their homes. Some of them prejudice that system won’t work during night times and cloudy days, and realized that it will be inefficient. But most of them tend to refuse form using solar power is expensive and homeowners can afford.

What can be done to persuade homeowners to utilize solar energy?

The appearance of solar panel can easily be dealt with. There are solar panels out there that look just like an ordinary root shingles, this are called photovoltaic shingles which can also function as root shingles world.

These solar shingles typically comes in a variety of dark colors like black, dark blue, and violet. Because these dark colors are efficient in collecting solar hear emery. But it has the appearance of a traditional asphalt shingles. So if you don’t like the traditional solar panel, you can simply install solar panel shingles.

Solar power can be utilized even at night time and cloudy days because it comes equipped with batteries on which it collects energy generated by the solar panel during the day and stored in its chambers. That’s why solar power is still efficient even during night time and cloudy days.

But to undertake the biggest problem most homeowners find it to decline in installing solar power is that it’s too expensive. Yes, it is expensive. Not unless you build it your own instead of hiring professional installer who charge a high fee for the services. Technology is available out there; you simply have to furnish the items necessary for completion. There are also so many step-by-step guides that will teach you how to install it with just a fraction of its actual cost.

The development of solar shingles and photovoltaic cell has been a major break through in harnessing solar technology. But it is only the beginning of the new age of solar technology which are spearheaded by this new technologies incorporated in it. Thus technology will become more innovative.

We have all felt the impact of rising fuel and energy costs, we have also all seen the devastating impact on the environment the extraction and use of fossil fuels has. For quite a few years now solar power for homes has been a much promoted alternative, the only problem is that it is so expensive to purchase and have installed, that is until now…

Residential solar power for homes has become a must if we are to free ourselves of the rising cost of traditional power resources such as fossil fuels. Solar power for homes has been with us for some time now, unfortunately the costs of taking it up have been prohibitive.

Residential solar power for homes is the simplest alternative energy installation we can preform on our homes. Easy to install and maintain (solar panels have a life span of around 30years) a residential solar power system will have you saving money for years to come.

No longer do you have to have massive, ugly solar panels decorating your roof, the panels produced today come in a variety of shapes and sizes (depending on your energy needs) and are made to blend in with the design of your home.

Possibly the most attractive feature of solar power for homes is it gives you the freedom to live your life independently or at least be less dependent upon, the power grid. This independence not only allows you to have what is effectively a free energy source, it also means you are not harming the environment as solar energy is a clean (no emissions, non polluting) and renewable energy source. The fact that residential solar power provides us with a clean, renewable energy, gives us the luxury to be less conscientious of and more liberal with our energy usage in the home.

Regardless of whether you are looking to totally power your home with solar or are looking to supplement traditional power sources to give you a cheaper, more reliable (no more power outages), unrestricted power resource, solar power is the way to go.

Recently we have seen the emergence of an affordable way to get a residential solar power system up and running. Many households are turning to DIY (Do It Yourself) solar power projects. DIY solar power guides are available on the internet via instant download and contain all the information (via video and ebook) you will need to get a solar power for the home system built and installed in no time.

One of the best alternative energy sources that we can harness to provide us with electricity is Solar Energy. Why so? Well, because it is renewable, meaning it is replenished or replaced naturally. It does not harm us humans and the environment.

Fossil fuels are harmful to our bodies. The pollutants it emits causes grave threats to our health. There has been a great rise in the occurrence of diseases related to pollution. The human lifespan has shortened because of this.

Greenhouse effect has caused the erratic change in our climate. Global Warming has made the temperatures rise that is melting the ice caps. It in turn causes water levels to rise thus places that has never experience flood before are experiencing them now.

If we opt to get energy from alternative resources such as solar energy that will be converted to electricity to power some of our appliances, we can help a lot with saving the environment. We can get solar power from the sun with the use of solar panels. And did you know that you could make solar panels by yourself. It is a simple procedure that can be done by anyone as long as they thoroughly research on how to make the solar panels.

Instructions on Do it yourself solar panels are available on the internet. And did you know that you can also make solar panels from simple kitchen materials. You need not buy materials immediately to make your own solar photovoltaic, go see your stuff in your tools are or shed. With a guide or instructions on what materials can be used to make your own solar panel, you are already equipped with what you should find there that will be useful for you in this solar panel project.

What will amaze you more is that when you use solar power for some, if not most of your appliances at home with solar energy is that you get to cut costs. With the money you save, you will be able to put it into more good use. Sunlight is free. This is where we get solar power from. Isn’t that wonderful?

Another great thing about solar power is that it does not emit any harmful substance to our environment. In fact, sunlight is good for our bodies. It is also used to disinfect water which in turn is good for our bodies.

Act now and know how to make your own solar panels. Harness solar energy and use it in your homes. Solar Energy is the best bet for sourcing out energy.

Everyday our life starts with the function of electricity. We wake up in the morning hearing the sound of our electric alarm clock; then we switch on our PC to see the updates, turn on the television to see the news of the day. We need air conditioners, heaters and many more, and to run all these we need electricity.

The electric power we are using these days comes from the combustion of nonrenewable sources coal, petroleum and as the requirement is going up high; so is the electric bill. Moreover by using this black energy the environment is getting polluted day by day.

Power 4 Home System details (how it works)

Now all of us know that the way to produce green energy is using the solar panels but the expense of setting up a solar power system is pretty high and is no less than $1000. But at the same time you can escape the expense and still avail some green energy for yourself. This is what is explained at the Power 4 home system. Here you will learn the steps to set up the wind mills or solar panels at home within a reasonable budget.

Like the solar power system the traditional concepts says that to make a wind mill for generating wind power it costs nearly $1500. But with the proper use of technology that too can be reduced to $100. The process to use these two power plants is very easy you only have to put them at a certain position of your house and the energy will be coming to you.

Advantages

1. You are saving a huge amount of electricity bill for yourself.

2. The current that you get from this system is totally pollution free.

3. At the time of power failure you don’t have to wait anymore; you can easily store power for using it later.

4. You can spend your leisure time on building your own power plant which is sort of social work indeed.

5. It will give you a great amount of satisfaction as by doing this you are protecting the environment from the green house gases.

6. Many of your neighbors can also get benefited from your power plant.

7. You can even earn money by selling the excess power generated in your plant.

Disadvantages

Power 4 Home systems are totally dependent on the natural resources like sun and wind. So when there is a cloudy day you can suffer the chances of power failure. Hence you should always create the backup system for this. One more problem is that with heavy rainfall the systems can suffer damages which will create much inconvenience for you.

Are Homemade Solar Panels Possible, Economical, and Useful?

With energy prices rising steadily over the last few decades and no reason to think they’ll fall anytime soon, many homeowners are exploring the option of powering their homes with renewable, or “green”, power systems. The two most common home green energy systems are wind turbines and solar panels. Of these two, solar energy panels have emerged as the most popular, due to their solid-state nature – meaning that with fewer moving parts, they require less maintenance over the years.

Unfortunately, installing a solar power system in your home can be prohibitively expensive. Having pre-made solar power panels professionally installed costs at least $3000 – and the price tag only rises quickly from there. To reduce this huge cost, many homeowners are exploring the possibility of building and installing their own homemade solar panels. You may be one of them.

If so, you probably have a lot of questions. Can the average person really build a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) solar power system in their garage or basement? If they could, would it really be significantly cheaper than having it professionally installed? And finally, would homemade solar panels provide enough electricity to be worth all the time and effort? This article will seek to answer these questions.

What Are the Benefits of a Home Solar Power System?

• You can reduce or even eliminate your power bill.
• If you generate surplus electricity, you can sell it to your local power company.
• You can increase the property value of your home.
• You can get tax deductions for using eco-friendly home power systems.
• You no longer have to worry about power outages.
• You help protect the environment – solar energy produces no greenhouse gasses.

What Are the Benefits of Building Homemade Solar Panels?

• Money. Over half of a contractor’s installation fee is time and labor. If you provide this yourself, you can drastically reduce the cost of building and installing your own home solar power system.

• Time. You can build your homemade solar panels in stages, adding new panels and producing more electricity at your own pace.

• Education. By building a home solar power system yourself, you’ll learn how solar electrical technology works. You’ll be able to perform your own maintenance and repairs, further reducing your costs.

Where Can I Find the Materials to Build a Homemade Solar Panel?

Almost all the materials you’ll need to build a DIY solar panel (such as copper wire, plywood, glass, silicone, etc.) can be found at either your local hardware store (such as Home Depot) or electronics store (such as Radio Shack). The same goes for the tools and equipment you’ll need to build your homemade solar panels. Any tool you don’t already have in your garage or basement (such as a voltage meter), you can buy at your local hardware or electronics store.

The lone exception to this rule is the photovoltaic solar cells that you’ll need to build together into DIY solar power panels. Unless you live in a very large city with a specialized solar hardware store, you’ll probably need to order these online or you can make it on your own.

Where Should I Place My Homemade Solar Panels?

The two most common places to put DIY solar panels are either on the roof of your house, or on the ground in your yard.

The roof has emerged as the most popular location for two reasons. First, in order to convert sunlight into electricity, solar energy panels need a direct line-of-sight between them and the sun. Trees, other buildings, or any other obstacle that provides shade or otherwise gets in the way will block the sun from your homemade solar panels. The easiest way to solve this problem is to raise the solar power panels up higher than the obstacles. To do that, of course, you should place the DIY solar panels on the roof.

Second, solar energy panels are big, and take up a lot of space. Furthermore, you will probably need more than one to power your entire home. If you mount your homemade solar panels on the ground, you may quickly fill your entire yard. Mounting DIY solar panels in the roof instead has the advantage of keeping them out of the way and freeing up your yard.

Ground-mounted solar power panels, however, do have one big advantage: accessibility. It is much easier and safer to walk out into your yard than on the roof of your house to perform maintenance and repairs to your homemade solar panels. If you live in a part of the country where there are few trees, such as the Great Plains or the Southwest, and if you own enough property (like a farm) to mount several DIY solar panels and have room to spare, perhaps ground-mounted solar energy panels are the way to go.

What Direction Should I Point My Homemade Solar Panels?

Placing your DIY solar panels perfectly flat, facing straight up, is the best option. This way, no matter where the sun is in the sky or at what angle, sunlight is still hitting the solar panel somewhere. Unfortunately, however, many homes have angled roofs instead of flat, making the “pointing straight up” option impractical. In this case, mount your DIY solar panels on the south-facing side of your roof to collect the most sunlight. In the continental United States, the sun is in the southern part of the sky for the most part.

How Can I Build Homemade Solar Panels?

The answer to that question goes way beyond the scope of this brief article. What we can do, however, is point you in the right direction. The easiest and most efficient route for you to go is to buy a step-by-step instruction manual on how to build DIY solar panels from one of the many websites that sell them. These are usually $50 or less, and well worth the money.

Not all instruction manuals for DIY solar power panels are equal, however. Here are some things to look for when shopping online for a good instruction manual:

• Clear, Step-by-Step Instructions (instead of just overviews)
• Simple, Plain English (instead of confusing technical terms and slang)
• Multiple, Clear Illustrations (instead of just text)
• Demonstration Videos (although not necessary, they are very, very helpful)
• Shopping Tips (for solar cells, deep-cycles batteries, and other hard-to-find items)
• Good Reviews (from past customers)
• Price (more than $60 is too much)

If you can find a high-quality manual, you will start enjoying the benefits of DIY solar panels within 2 weeks, because the manual should be able to teach you to build homemade solar energy panels in just a weekend.

If you’ve enjoyed all the exciting information you read here about Homemade Solar Panels, you’ll love everything else you find at DIY Solar Panels.

Do you still remember your goal when you were a kid? Did you want to get high marks in exams? Did you want to play around at night without letting your parents know? You might have different goals but I am sure, for now, some of you may have set a ‘go green’ goal. You may want to lessen the pollution problem and become more eco-friendly. And as a result, you may want to generate electricity by solar power and wind power.

Of course, you cannot achieve that goal on your own just right now. You have to gain some knowledge. So Power4Home will be your great assist. It is a program that helps you build a good solar power system for homes in the most cost-effective way. You may find other similar programs, like Home Made Energy and Earth4Energy, on the Internet. I will only focus on Power4Home in this review and indeed you can also consider the other two.

Power4Home offers you a series of videos, eBooks, and a membership area so that you can easily make homemade solar panels and windmills in just a weekend. They will tell you how to get the parts, wire those parts together and install the whole system. Once you have built a functional system with their instructions, you will be protecting our Earth. You will not produce any harmful gases. Our environment will be cleaner.

What is more, you will be saving money on electric bills every month. And the best thing is that Power4Home claims that their secret method will help you build the whole system for under $200. So even though you do not have much money, you can still give it a try.

I have bought Power4Home a year ago and I find it very helpful. I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. At the beginning I did not have any related knowledge in solar power and wind power. But this program teaches me everything. They explain the sophisticated theories in a simple way. The program is well-organized and the instructions in the step-by-step videos are clear. Also it is important to let you know that the program offers you a 100% money back guarantee. You need not worry about the investment. But I personally do not ask for the refund because I think it is really a good program.

Above is just my sharing about Power4Home. Although I recommend that program for you, I strongly recommend you to compare more related programs. You should read more reviews before you pay the money. Hope you will achieve your ‘go green’ goal very soon.

Usually, once a person has installed a solar panel and has it running smoothly, they tend to forget about maintaining it. However, if you do not keep the solar panel clean, then it’s performance will suffer greatly. The panels are made to capture the suns rays and convert them into energy that we can use, so if anything is blocking or hindering the panel’s ability to capture sunlight, then that is going to have an effect on the efficiency of your solar panel. So if you want to get the most out of your solar panels, you are going to need to make sure they are cleaned routinely.

Solar panels become dirty because they are usually mounted on top of the roof of the house, where there are many outdoor pollens, and other things like leaves and dust, that can obstruct the solar cells. Dirt is commonly carried off of the ground by the wind and onto the roof, and if there are any surrounding trees, you will have to be careful as to not let leaves build up on the solar panels. You also have to make sure you don’t let too much water build up on the surface of the panels, as this will also obstruct the cells ability to capture sunlight. There are many things that could make your solar panels dirty, including bugs and bird droppings as well.

There are several options when it comes to cleaning your solar panels. The first option, and the most obvious, would be for you to get dirty and do it yourself. However, most people are not willing or able to do such a thing, so there are also cleaning services that you can hire to come and clean your panels on a regular basis. There are also automated cleaning systems that can be programmed to do the job for you routinely. The way in which you clean your solar panel, really depends on how big of a budget you are on and/or how much you are willing to work.

If you would like to learn how to build a solar panel yourself, then I would recommend the Power4Home guide. It is packed with instructions, diagrams and even 3+ hours of instructional video.
